Good Samaritan rescues calf

EL PASO COUNTY – A newborn calf is enjoying some pampering, after being rescued following this week’s blizzard.

Patty Berg tells us the morning after the storm she went outside to feed her own livestock and noticed an animal covered in snow and ice across the road from her pasture.

She saw the calf was only a few days old and called a neighbor to help. The two wrapped up the calf and moved her up to her house and put her in the pasture.

Berg says once the snow and ice fell off the calf was hungry, and she was able to give her a milk replacement that she keeps for emergencies.

The calf’s owner was found and will be picking her up, but until then Berg says she’s enjoying some “spa time.”
