DENVER – After snow hit the Denver area Saturday afternoon, a crash involving 49 vehicles on Pena Boulevard shut down a stretch of the road heading towards Denver International Airport.
Denver PD said 17 people in total were injured in the pile-up. Three were treated and released at the scene and the 14 others were transported to area hospitals with what PD said appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
Pena Boulevard was closed following the crashes. Denver PD said it will reopen around 8 p.m.
No citations will be issued.
