PUEBLO — A Southern Colorado couple is using this Valentine’s Day to celebrate their decades-long love story.

Esidore and Erlinda Bustos have been married for 63 years and even though health problems have forced them to live apart, the couple says their love is still as strong as ever.

Esidore lost his legs several years ago and now lives at University Park Care Center so he can get continuous care.

Erlinda says she can not stand spending time away from her beloved, so every day for the past 3 years she has been starting her day with a bus ride to reach her husband, “I wouldn’t be any other place without him because when he first had to come here I had to be at home, I would lie down in bed and he is not there so that tore me up and I thought, I just can’t do that. So, I said I am going to get up and go on and be with him until I can’t.”

As for the long-lasting couple’s marriage advice: Erlinda says it’s all about spending time together as a couple and solving problems without fighting.
