PUEBLO COUNTY – An electric co-op in Pueblo County is encouraging people to switch from gas to electric vehicles.

San Isabel Electric is offering people who charge their cars from home a chance to enter its “Time of Rate Program.”

The co-op said this program could make it cheaper to charge your vehicle rather than paying for gas.

“We have seen an increased demand for renewable cheap and efficient energy and so we are ready to offer them incentives and programs that help them convert from gas to electric,” said Communications Manager, Paris Elliot.

The co-op is offering $5,000 in electric vehicle-related rebates on top of the $12,500 available to Colorado residents in the form of tax credits.

A rebate of $500 is available for customers who purchase an eligible electric vehicle and up to a $1,000 rebate for the purchase and installation of an eligible charging station.
