COLORADO SPRINGS – Police said several customers and a clerk detained a man who tried and failed to rob a Colorado Springs 7-Eleven store Tuesday night.
Police responded to the 7-Eleven store near Platte and Wahsatch around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday where they found 32-year-old Michael Neal had been detained by three customers and a clerk.
Police said Neal walked into the gas station, showed that he had a gun in his waistband and demanded cash. However, that’s when the customers and the clerk fought back and helped restrain the suspect. Police said the gun turned out to be a pellet gun.
Neal was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries and was later booked into the El Paso County jail.
