COLORADO SPRINGS — Being in the hospital on Valentine’s day is sometimes a lonely prospect, that’s why medical students at UCHealth in Colorado Springs are stepping up to deliver some love.
In between all of their hard-work and studying, students make Valentine’s and distribute them to patients on what they call “love rounds.”
3rd year medical student, Bri Hartman sums up what the effort is all about, “It’s really about bringing a little bit of love to patients who might be alone or having a tough time during Valentine’s Day.”
The Valentine’s distribution is a tradition among UCHealth medical students, starting at the Anschutz Medical Campus years ago, it has since spread across several campuses.
