COLORADO SPRINGS – Care and Share wants the people of southern Colorado to help them spread the love this week by helping the organization stock up on peanut butter and jelly.

The organization said peanut butter is a good source of protein and PB&Js can be an important part of feeding hungry people.

Supplies are low at the food band they’re hoping Valentine’s wee will spur some donation’s.

“Since a lot of people go all out for Valentine’s Day, this is a great way to celebrate and help our families in need by participating in ‘Spread the Love’,” said Lynne Telford of Care and Share.

A donation of $10 can get twelve jars of peanut butter. Last year’s drive brought in 13,000 pounds. Donations can be dropped off at both the Colorado Springs and Pueblo Distribution Centers.
