COLORADO SPRINGS – A Colorado Springs police officer is involved in an accident on Academy Blvd at Astrozon. Police say the officer was headed to a call northbound on Academy Blvd. with his lights and siren on when his car was hit by a car traveling westbound through the intersection. There are no serious injuries reported at this time.
There is a large police presence at the crash and the southbound lanes of Academy Blvd. are expected to be closed until roughly 9:00 p.m. Plan on taking an alternate route and avoid the area if possible.
