COLORADO SPRINGS – A CSPD investigation into a series of personal robberies has led to the arrest of two men connected to at least nine crimes.

According to CSPD, the investigation was focused on multiple suspects who were using the “MeetMe” App to bait victims into meeting a female at a given location.

CSPD said that when the victims arrived at the prearranged address, they were approached by two black males who demanded property. Five cases following this M.O. occurred at the Michigan Manor Apartments, located at 3635 Michigan Ave.

According to CSPD, on Jan. 29th, officers arrested 24-year-old Robert Curtis Jones Jr. and 19-year-old Melchezedek Gordon for a robbery at the previously mentioned apartment complex. The victims of that robbery reported they had been invited to the apartment by a female they had met on the Tinder App. When they arrived, two black males robbed them at gunpoint and then carjacked the truck they arrived in.

CSPD said that although many of the robberies occurred at the Michigan Manor Apartments, none of the involved parties lived there.

Detectives executed additional search warrants and recovered multiple items taken in the robberies. CSPD said ten criminal investigations have been linked to Jones and Gordon. The pair has been charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, First Degree Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery, and Robbery.
