COLORADO SPRINGS- In 1919, The Broadmoor Art Academy opened its doors in Colorado Springs which years later would become the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.
100 years later, it still exists as an art school and also a museum and performance space.
‘I think that the importance of arts and culture in the community is growing and the fact that we have had community support to develop to the point to where we are today is really incredible,’ said Dori Mitchell, Director of Marketing for the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.
On Saturday, dozens of people showed up for a kick-off celebration highlighting the major milestone.
Among some of the activities, people enjoyed walking around the galleries, learning how to weave and sewing exhibits.
