COLORADO – Just released Tuesday, hours upon hours of psychiatric interviews on tape with James Holmes.
Holmes is the man who walked into the Aurora movie theater in 2012 and opened fire.
Court-appointed Psychiatrist William Reid interviewed Holmes for more than 25 hours. The tapes captured those interviews and were during his trial.
Holmes pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity but was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Holmes never provided a motive in the massacre that occurred during a midnight showing of a Batman movie and left a dozen people dead and 58 others wounded. He eventually surrendered to police.
Holmes said he figured his life would end after the shooting.
He said one of his weapons jammed and that he could have killed more people but decided to surrender.
Prosecutors’ spokeswoman Vikki Migoya said people who want to see the videos can contact Colorado’s 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office for access to a website where they are posted.
