Walmart using technology to speed up shopping

COLORADO SPRINGS — The Walmart on Razorback Rd. in Colorado Springs is testing new technology that they hope will make shopping more efficient.

The new scanning machine in use is the first of its kind in Colorado, it works by sorting items straight from a delivery truck to the stocking area.

The store says not only will this save time, but the workers who would be taking time to stock shelves can instead move to sales floors to help customers.

The technology is currently in the testing phase, but if everything works smoothly Walmart hopes to expand into more stores.
