EL PASO COUNTY – The 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office has dropped a charge of first degree murder against a Falcon-area man accused of killing his wife in October.

45-year-old Thomas Jackson was arrested on the day of his wife’s death and remained jailed as of Friday.  Prosecutors have not provided additional information on what led to the decision to no longer pursue charges or what final determination was reached in shooting death of Courtney Jackson.

She was found dead in the couple’s home on Mt. Wilson Place in early October. In the days following the shooting, a spokesperson for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the home multiple times for disturbances between the husband and wife before the shooting. Each time deputies advised the couple to separate from each other due to a hostile relationship.
