PUEBLO – An investigation was launched Wednesday morning after the death of a 58-year-old inmate at the Pueblo County Jail. An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday.
Detention Deputies say they were serving food trays around 6 A.M. when they discovered Mauro Hernandez unresponsive in his bed. The sheriff’s office says deputies and medical staff attempted live-saving measures, but were unable to revive Hernandez.
The sheriff’s office is working with the Pueblo County Coroner on the death investigation.
