Liberty Point International School will be locked in Thursday following rumored threats

PUEBLO WEST – Following numerous anonymous tips that there has been a threat to Liberty Point International School, the middle school will be locked in on Thursday, Jan. 10th.

The school posted on Facebook that they received a tip that said the following:

” I am scared there might be a shooting. I was at Walmart in Pueblo West and two men in long coats were talking about coming to those schools and “Shooting them up”. The 2 men were said to have long black trench coats and beards They said they will do this on January 10, 2019.”

The school said all reports are being dealt with by the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office and School District 70. The Sheriff’s Office will have armed officers at the schools. Only students, school staff, district administration, and law enforcement will be allowed in the building.

The school said that if parents feel their students should stay home, they will be excused.
