DENVER – If you have a flight to catch out of Denver International Airport today, you may be in for some delays into the evening hours.

A Southwest Airlines aircraft collided with a piece of ground equipment at the gate Monday afternoon. High wind is being blamed for the accident. No one on flight 203 from Las Vegas was injured in the mishap.

Wind is causing delays at DIA. Departures are delayed anywhere from 15-30 minutes currently. Inbound flights are also delayed due to heavy taxiway congestion. Officials at the airport are advising travelers to expect delays as a high wind warning is in effect until at least 10:00 p.m. tonight.

High wind warnings are in effect for many parts of Colorado, with westerly winds between 30 to 40 miles per hour and gusts up to 65 mph.
