CSPD officers honored with “True Blue” Awards

COLORADO SPRINGS – Four Colorado Springs Police officers and an administrative assistant were honored for their work in the community Monday.

For the first time in the Springs, the Bill Daniels Foundation handed out its True Blue Awards.

The recipients were all honored for helping or reaching out to citizens to make their lives better.

After hearing about his desire to be a cop, one officer put together a Cop for a Day event for a boy with cancer.

“It touched me cause my wife has cancer too,” said Officer Warren Listul. “So it kind of struck a nerve and I’ve got to say we got the ball rolling and with a lot of help, it turned out pretty good I think.”

A donation was also made to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

The Daniels Foundation strives to make life better in Colorado and three other western states.
