DENVER – Colorado Springs Police Officer Cem Duzel had a special visitor, who was well rested after his post-Christmas vacation.
Santa Claus visited Cem at Craig Hospital in Denver, where Duzel continues his rehabilitation. Mr. Claus, who was accompanied by CSPD officers, cadets and command staff, dropped off gifts and cards for Duzel, sent in from the community following an outreach effort.

Duzel’s family said they have been “deeply touched by everyone’s thoughtfulness and support” following the shooting that gravely injured Duzel last August.
Springs Police said in December that Duzel has experienced a couple setbacks, but they said he is “continuing the fight” and is showing improvement as he keeps up with his physical therapy schedule.
