COLORADO SPRINGS – As the latest winter storm settles into southern Colorado today, numerous accidents have already taken place. While I-25 doesn’t look too terribly bad, the icy spots are catching people off guard, so keep your speeds below the posted limit.
With the bitter cold temperatures expected through the day and overnight, bridges, ramps, overpasses and any elevated area will continue to be slick.
Side streets are already seeing a fine layer of ice in many areas.
ACCIDENT ALERT is in effect in the following areas:
City of Colorado Springs
The City of Fountain
Douglas County
CDOT does have their snowplow crews out in full force and they have had since very early this morning in anticipation of the storm. Give the plow trucks plenty of room and never pass them on the right side.
