SUMMIT COUNTY – Just after noon on Friday, Dec. 22, Summit County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a skier found unconscious and not breathing at the bottom of a ski run at the Keystone Resort.
The skier was a 52-year-old man.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, there was no indication the skier had a collision with any object.
When deputies arrived, other skiers had begun CPR on the man. He was transported to the Keystone Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
The identity of the skier is being withheld until next of kin can be notified by the Summit County Coroner.
The Sheriff’s Office said the coroner has taken over the investigation into the cause of death.
