COLORADO SPRINGS – It was students to who helped to put a smile on grateful faces Monday.

It was the students at the Devine Redeemer School who helped to collect Christmas dinners for those in need.

“A lot of organizations give out turkeys at Thanksgiving time, but there’s lesser of them that give out something at Christmas,” said Father Brian Roeseler.

This year 150 hams were handed out from the schools food bank, along with all the fixings. The school has been collecting food to help families in need for the last 50 years.

“All families absolutely deserve some of the joys that we receive during these holidays,” Roeseler said.

Middle school students were hand to help hand out the goodies, something teachers say is a good lesson in giving and kindness.
