EL PASO COUNTY – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office confirms human remains were found on Balanced Rock Rd. in the northeastern portion of the county west of Monument.
Balanced Rock Rd is also known as Forest Service Road 322 which runs from the northeast side of Mt. Herman to Rampart Range Rd.
A spokesperson for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says the skeletal remains were discovered on Wednesday afternoon.
The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing any information on a possible identity until a positive identification is made and a review is complete by the coroner.
We do know 20-year-old Kevin Rudnicki was known to be in that area when he disappeared in late August while hiking. Search and rescue crews and volunteers have regularly returned to the area searching for any sign of the young man.
