MONUMENT – If you’ve purchased gasoline from the Diamond Shamrock gas station on Baptist Rd. west of I-25, you may want to check your bank account in the days moving forward.

Employees at the station contacted the Monument Police after they discovered that someone had forcibly entered three of the pumps and placed illegal electronic skimmer devices inside of them.

The skimmers are used to steal credit and debit card information when a person swipes their card at the pump. The information can then be retrieved by the suspects and used to commit identity theft.

The skimmers may have been placed in the pumps as early as Wednesday, December 5th. The suspects may have been driving a dark green van and a white pickup truck.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Monument Police Department at 719-481-3253.
