EL PASO COUNTY – A man wanted out of Texas who is accused of holding family members against their will in a local motel is now behind bars in El Paso County.
According to investigators, 56-year-old Johnathan Samuel Young had taken his child from a hospital against medical advice. The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services put out an alert for law enforcement to be on the lookout for him.
The Sheriff’s Office found Young, along with the child and family members, inside a room at the Value Inn on Space Village Ave. Wednesday afternoon.
Young was reportedly threatening he “would not be taken alive” and was considered armed and dangerous. However, he was taken into custody without incident. Family members and the child were safe and unharmed.
Young is jailed on charges of being a fugitive, assault, harassment, child abuse and for a warrant on assault out of Texas.
