EL PASO COUNTY – El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man wanted on numerous warrants after a chase that spanned across the county early Wednesday morning.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said the chase started in Colorado Springs when a driver was brake-checking deputies and “taunting” them.

The suspect then led deputies on a chase east on Highway 94, when the suspect’s vehicle went off the road and crashed through a fence in a field. The suspect then took off on foot but was arrested shortly afterward.

Two El Paso County cruisers were damaged in the chase, one was sideswiped and another received significant damage from driving off the road.

Public Information Officer Jacqueline Kirby said the suspect was checked out at a hospital before being booked into the El Paso County jail. The suspect has not yet been identified, but we’re expecting to receive that information later on Wednesday.

Kirby said the suspect will likely face numerous charges.
