COLORADO SPRINGS – Arizona movie theater chain RoadHouse Cinemas announced it will open its third location in Colorado Springs.
The new theater is scheduled to open at the old Kmart building at Nevada and Fillmore in fall of 2019, with a possible opening as early as next October.
RoadHouse Cinemas Director of Operations Scott Cassell said his theaters focus on providing more than the movie to customers.
“From the time you walk in, to the time you leave, it’s just not watching a movie, it’s an experience,” Cassell said.
Cassell said every seat in the theater is a recliner, customers get unlimited popcorn and there is a full bar available. Each seat also has a call button for wait staff, which can bring food and drinks to your seat from a full menu.
Cassell told News 5 that the Colorado Springs location will also be the first of the company’s theaters to have a Dave and Busters-style arcade and bowling alley geared toward adults.
According to a news release from RoadHouse, the Rail Yard will have an outdoor patio, event space for parties and a sports bar.
The menu consists of flatbread pizzas, burgers, hot sandwiches, gelato, keg root beer floats, specialty candies and cheesecakes.
According to RoadHouse’s website, tickets vary in price depending on the time of the showing. For a 7 p.m. movie on a Friday an adult ticket is $12.95. Additional discounts are offered for children, seniors, students and service members.
The 12-theater location is also expected to provide 150 jobs, according to Cassell.
The movie theater chain currently has two locations in Arizona, one in Tucson and another Scottsdale. This is the first location the company is opening outside of the Grand Canyon state.
