Dine-in movie theater set to hit Colorado Springs next fall

COLORADO SPRINGS – A new kind of movie and dining experience is making its way to the Pikes Peak region.

The goal is that by next fall the old Kmart near Nevada and Fillmore will be transformed into a dine-in movie theater. RoadHouse Cinemas, the company in charge, said the building will feature 12 state-of-the-art auditoriums where guests can order food and drinks right from their luxury recliners.

There will also be a gourmet concession stand, full-service bar, scratch kitchen, and The Rail Yard featuring an entertainment hub with bowling, large gaming arcade, sports bar & restaurant.

The new business-bringing with it a lot of jobs and money to the local economy.

RoadHouse Cinemas Director of Operations Scott Cassell said, “We’re going to be looking at about 150 full and part-time jobs…the business itself probably $14 million a year.”
