PUEBLO – Police have determined the teacher put on leave by District 60 for an inappropriate text just made a  mistake with a typo. They will not pursue criminal charges.

According to police, the teacher at Central High School was using a homework app to send a text that included a typo which created an unintended hyperlink to a site containing pornography.

District 60 announced late Thursday that the teacher was on leave until further notice.  The issue about the text was reported by students to the district.

There’s no word yet from the district on whether the teacher will return to class or remain on leave.

D60 released the following statement about the incident Friday:

“Pueblo City Schools appreciates the Pueblo Police Department’s prompt response to the investigation concerning a text message regarding a homework assignment sent to a group of students at Central High School. Per our standard operating procedure, the district will conduct an employee investigation to determine if any policies were violated.”
