Colorado Springs Police arrest five suspects in connection to multiple robberies

COLORADO SPRINGS – Police have arrested five people who are suspected of working together to rob multiple banks and a business in Colorado Springs over a five-month period.

Police seized $17,000 in cash, six guns, seven pounds of marijuana, “hundreds” of pills and eight cars in connection to the robberies, which started on July 22 and happened most recently on Nov. 1, 2018.

Police arrested five suspects varying in age from 17 to 36:

  • Brainard Clark, 24 years of age
  • Kerrie Scott, 19 years of age
  • Chad Williams, 27 years of age
  • Jenaireo Wade, 36 years of age

The fifth suspect was a 17-year-old boy, whose identity was not released by police because he’s a minor. Police tied them to five different robberies and attempted robberies since July 22 in Colorado Springs.

Police said multiple suspects tried to rob the Green Crest Convenience store on Van Teylingen Drive on July 22. Officers said they left in a stolen car. Police also tied them to a robbery and an attempted robbery at the Key Bank on S. Academy Boulevard on Sept. 10 and Sept. 24.

They also said they robbed the Academy Bank on Briargate Boulevard on Oct. 18 and the TCF Bank on Platte Avenue on Nov. 1.

The suspects are facing robbery charges, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
