Former El Paso County deputy faces six years in prison for smuggling drugs into jail

COLORADO SPRINGS – A former El Paso County Sheriff’s deputy was sentenced to six years in prison Wednesday, months after he was arrested on felony drug charges.

Steven D’Agostino, 35, who used to work as a member of floor security in the El Paso County jail, was sentenced after he pleaded guilty in September to bribery and drug charges.

D’Agostino will also have five years of parole. D’agostino worked with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office since March 2013 prior to his arrest in June when he was placed on administrative leave without pay.
