ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK – It’s official! Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park is closed for the season. Officials at the park also say that Bear Lake Road, Moraine Park, Horseshoe Park and a very small section of Trail Ridge Road are still open at this time.
Trail Ridge Road runs about 11-miles and it’s above 11,500 feet in elevation. It was not designed to be open year round. In fact, there are no shoulders and guard rails are far and few between. The roadway will open again next May.
Old Fall River Road and Trail Ridge Road will remain open to bicycles and leashed pets until December 1st.
