COLORADO SPRINGS – Well over 100 people here in Colorado Springs are looking for new jobs after the owner of the Denver Post and other newspapers nationwide, laid them off.

Employees with Digital First Media were told about the possible layoffs last August and then the company informed the Colorado Department of Labor about the job cuts last month. Layoffs will start taking place on December 28th and continue through February 15th.

Numerous people involved in the finance department, billing, collections and customer service are being affected by the cuts.

Digital First Media is going to be outsourcing those jobs to a company with employees in more than 20 different countries. Five different customer service centers have closed since December 31st, of 2017. Most of those companies decided to outsource those jobs as well.
