COLORADO SPRINGS – Colorado Springs Police said a female victim was killed when she was hit by a car late Sunday night.
It happened around 11:45 p.m. Sunday night at the intersection of S. Academy Boulevard and Astrozon Boulevard. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police tell News 5 that the driver, 29-year-old Elizabeth Bennett, was arrested and will likely face charges for vehicular homicide and for driving under the influence “of a suspected drug.”
The driver and passenger in the car were not hurt. All lanes at the intersection reopened around 3 a.m.
