EL PASO COUNTY – The Sheriff’s Office has made a third arrest for the October 7th killing of 20-year-old Kenyatta Horne in the Lorson Ranch neighborhood.
19-year-old Wayne TC Sellers was arrested in Phillips County, Colorado on a charge of first-degree murder. He’s being held in the Logan County Jail awaiting transfer to El Paso County.
The victim in this case was found on the 6400 block of Tranters Creek Way after people heard multiple shots fired. Officers and medics tried to save Horne’s life, but he died at the scene.
Deputies arrested 20-year-old Tyler Lee Wheeler on a charge of murder on October 11th.
19-year-old Beslim Torres-Valle was arrested a few days later, also on a charge of first-degree murder.
Detectives have not detailed how the suspects and the victim know each other.
Neighbors told News5 they were shocked to hear the gunfire in the quiet subdivision east of Marksheffel Rd and Fontaine Blvd. We’re told at least 5 shots were fired, with some rounds hitting homes.
Dale Mushak, who lives near the scene, said he thought it was fireworks until he heard screaming. “We came to the corner and realized the gentleman had been shot. I heard his mom screaming, ‘Bring my son back, bring my son back.’”
