COLORADO SPRINGS – A pedestrian crossing Academy Boulevard at Astrozon Boulevard was struck and killed by a car just before 8 p.m. Tuesday night.
The man hit was in the intersection at the time of the crash. He died on the scene.
Detectives from the Major Accident Unit are handling the investigation. The driver was questioned on scene then released.
As of Wednesday morning, there’s no additional information on whether the man crossing the street was within a crosswalk at the time of the crash. CSPD has not stated if the driver may face charges as the investigation continues.
The identity of the man killed will be released after positive identification is made and the next-of-kin is notified.
