DILLON – Saturday is opening day at Loveland Ski Area.

The area’s new high-speed quad lift, Chet’s Dream, opened at 8:30 a.m. and will allow skiers and boarders to access a top-to-bottom run covered with an 18-inch base of snow, the ski area said in a release. Three trails make up this new run which is over a mile in length and traverses nearly one thousand vertical feet.

The ski area said the new lift will provide guests with quicker and more reliable access to some of their most popular terrain while also honoring ski industry pioneer and Loveland patriarch, Chester R. (Chet) Upham, Jr.

The Loveland Ski Area will be open 7 days a week until closing day in early May.

Lift operation hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends and designated holidays.

Early season lift tickets are $65 for adults and $31 for children ages 6 – fourteen.

Arapahoe Basin ski area also opened Friday, Oct. 19th.
