ESTES PARK – Wintry weather arrived in parts of the Colorado High Country Friday afternoon.
Rocky Mountain National Park posted a photo of snow falling near the Alpine Visitor Center on Trail Ridge Road Friday afternoon.
The park has closed the road until conditions improve, which may not be until after this weekend. Snow is in the forecast for higher elevations around Colorado, and Trail Ridge Road reaches points higher than 12,000 feet above sea level.
First Alert 5 Forecaster Mike Daniels said as much as a foot of snow is possible by midnight on Sunday in that area.
