AIR FORCE ACADEMY – Starting Friday, people in Colorado Springs should keep an eye to the sky for Air Force aircraft flying over the north side of the city.
Starting around noon Friday, a CV-22 Osprey, F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, F-35 Lightning II and F-22 Raptor will act out how air resources are used in modern conflicts. The display will occur above the Academy’s Terrazzo, near the Air Force Academy chapel.
A B-1 Lancer, F-35 LightningII and the UH-1 Huey will fly over Falcon stadium before kickoff against Navy a little before 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
People driving by the Air Force Academy on I-25 should not stop to watch the demonstration, and people living near the Academy should expect more air traffic and noise in the area.
Over the next 2 days #ColoradoSprings residents will see an increase in aircraft traffic surrounding the @AF_Academy, including today's Combat Search and Rescue Demonstration & tomorrow's #AFvNavy game.
So, just sit back and enjoy your @usairforce airpower! #GoAirForce #SinkNavy pic.twitter.com/8ju9fKwoGr
