FOUNTAIN – Following weeks of investigation into the death of a 15-month-old girl in Fountain, police have arrested the girl’s mother on a charge of child abuse resulting in death.
The case started on August 4th when officers were called to the area of 599 Crest Drive for a child that was not breathing and unresponsive.
Officers attempted CPR before she was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead that same day.
According to Fountain Police, they reached out to several agencies, including the ATF in El Paso, Texas, to learn more about the mother.
23-year-old Lauren Sierra was arrested on August 27. Fountain Police have not announced where Sierra was arrested or explained why it took almost a month to release information on her arrest.
