EL PASO COUNTY – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said there is no longer a threat to students at Widefield High School after a student was reported planning an unknown threat to the school.
The student was charged with Inciting Destruction of Life or Property which is a felony.
Deputies said the threat was reported to a school resource officer on September 19th. No details of the threat have been made public.
The sheriff’s office said in a release the incident serves as a reminder for parents to talk to their children about the seriousness of making threats to students, faculty or a school as a whole.
There are no reports of anyone being hurt and the investigation is ongoing.
