Baby Zayden Ostrander died in February 2017. Detectives who interviewed the couple reported the child was neglected since birth and only fed “gummy snacks.”

Mirabal and the child’s father, John Ostrander, were both arrested in the weeks after the child’s death.

Sentencing for the mother is scheduled for late November. John Ostrander is already serving a 32-year sentence for child abuse-neglect causing death.
