BENT COUNTY – The Bent County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened early Tuesday morning in Las Animas.
Deputies said they found a man who suffered a gunshot wound to the head inside a residence off of 6th Street near the Las Animas Elementary School a little after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The victim was taken to the hospital and his condition has not been provided.
Authorities said they found evidence that there was forced entry into the home, but the Bent County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that it doesn’t believe there is any threat to the public.
