Search efforts underway Wednesday to find missing hiker near Mt. Herman

MONUMENT- El Paso County Search and Rescue crews resumed their search at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning for a missing 20-year-old man last seen Sunday morning.

Search and Rescue crews and volunteers returned to the area Wednesday morning. In addition, a Flight for Life helicopter crew is doing aerial surveillance. Later in the day, the Colorado Springs Fire Department will be using their drones to help with the efforts.

Rudnicki is 5’9 and weighs 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green t-shirt, khaki cargo shorts with tan boots and a University of Wyoming baseball cap.

Rudnicki was last seen on the trail by one of his teachers around 8:45 a.m. Sunday.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who is hiking or biking in the area to be aware of the situation and to keep an eye out for him or clues that could help find him.
