PUEBLO COUNTY – A grass fire near the El Paso County and Pueblo County lines in the Midway area is now out after a more than half hour long firefighting effort.
There’s a recreational vehicle on some scrub brush land near I-25 that burned during the lunch hour. According to the sheriff’s office, a man working on a pickup along the side of the road accidentally sparked the fire.
At this time, he’s not facing any charges for the fire.
The fire was near the Indian Village Heights neighborhood just south of the Pikes Peak International Raceway where the Carson-Midway fire raged in the spring.
No evacuation orders were issued in the area.
