DENVER – Denver Police said one person is in critical condition after a shooting near two Denver schools Tuesday afternoon.

Schools Superintendent Tom Boasberg tells 9NEWS Denver the victim is 13 or 14 years old but could not say if he was a student at Cole Middle School.

Police said no suspect information is currently available, but police are interviewing people in the area to get a description and are asking people who might have seen something to come forward.

No arrests have been made as of Tuesday afternoon.

Officers also said the shooting happened around 2 p.m. outside of the school, but they have not released details about what led up to the shooting.

Schools in the area were placed on lockdown after the incident occurred, but no students inside were hurt.
