PUEBLO – Pueblo City Schools is rolling out its new strategic plan for the next five years and the district wants you to be part of it!

The strategic plan is something that hasn’t been updated since about 2008. District officials said this latest one is a simple document and a lot easier for people to understand.

The official announcement of the plan was made on Tuesday. Students, families, and district staff came together to celebrate with performances from each high school.

This is the breakdown of D60’s Strategic Plan 2018-2023:

  • Five different goal areas with several objectives within goals
  • Five areas include:
    • Student Success
    • Community Engagement
    • Safe & Positive Culture
    • Quality Staff
    • Budget & Sustainable Funding

Besides the goal areas the district also has a new mission and vision statement as well as new core values.

D60 Superintendent Charlotte Macaluso said, “That mission is to provide a high-quality education that assures each student the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to lead a life of purpose and impact.”

Roseanna Herrera, a parent in D60, said, “The fact that they went through and made a plan I think is a good place to start. They set goals, objectives of how to achieve those goals. These are very important things. We need to have a plan to know where we’re going.”

District officials said creating this strategic plan was a journey that started last school year. More than 2,000 members of the community played a role in developing this plan.

The district is starting to form action teams to make sure these new goals are met. If you’d like to get involved CLICK HERE. You’ll be able to decide which goals you’re most interested in helping the district to develop.
