COLORADO SPRINGS – A judge has issued an arrest warrant for Anna Brimm after she failed to show up in court for her case related to a drug bust inside an unlicensed daycare in Colorado Springs.

She was scheduled to be in court Thursday morning on 8 charges related to narcotics possession, unlawful distribution of narcotics, weapons possession and criminal possession of a financial device.

Brimm was originally arrested on Friday by Colorado Springs Police when they made a welfare check call in the 2000 block of Warwick Lane.  This all started when parents reported they couldn’t get a hold of the babysitter to pick up their 2-year-old child inside what they knew as ‘Tiny Toes’ being run by a woman they knew as Sarah Richmond.

Once the woman’s true identity was revealed as Anna Brimm, officers discovered she had multiple outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants for her arrest.  While officers were on scene, the parents of a 2-year-old were there to pick up their child but said they couldn’t get a hold of the babysitter.

Parents and officers then attempted to make contact with the woman but were only able to reach her via text, according to CSPD. Back and forth texts with the parents determined the child was still in the home.

Officers then set up containment and after about an hour of negotiations a man walked out of the home and handed over the child, police said. The child was reportedly shaking, wide-eyed and had tears in their eyes.

The 2-year-old was quickly reunited with their parents. Approximately 20 minutes later, the woman surrendered and was taken into custody. Officers then conducted a search warrant in the home and discovered a large amount of drug paraphernalia, police said.

A second search warrant was then executed where officers found 12.6 grams of Methamphetamine, 7.3 grams of Brown Heroin, 28.2 Grams of Black Tar Heroin, 1.3 grams of Cocaine and 550 prescription pills packaged and ready to sell.

The pills included Hydromorphone, Methadone, Adderall, Alprazolam, Buprenorpine, Tramadol, Oxycodone, Armodafinil, Clonazepam, Methylphenidate, and Hydromorphone, according to CSPD.

Police said the total estimated street value of the drugs was over $35,000. Officers also found $2,163 in cash and a Sig Sauer P250 40 Cal handgun.

The woman, later identified as 27-year-old Anna Brimm, was charged with 2nd Degree Kidnapping, Child Abuse, Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Weapons by Previous Offender, Special Offender Drugs, and Criminal Possession of a Financial Device.

Police said if your child attends “Tiny Toes” in the 2000 block of Warwick Lane and has information on the daycare, please call CSPD at (719) 444-7000.
