The Sugarloaf Fire in Boulder County burned an estimated seven acres on Aug. 14, 2018.

BOULDER COUNTY – Fire crews gained quick control of the Sugarloaf Fire, which burned approximately seven acres west of Boulder Tuesday afternoon.

The fire forced the evacuation of 198 homes in the area due to concerns the fire could spread and threaten structures. Those evacuation orders are now lifted.

The fire also forced the closure of Sugarloaf Road and roads to the south. Some of those closures remain in effect as fire crews mop up hot spots in the area.
