COLORADO SPRINGS — At the beginning of December, News5 showed you how stressed and exhausted funeral homes throughout southern Colorado are as they try and keep up with the increase in demand.
Many expanded how many bodies they can hold, to try and help ease the burden on our hospitals.

El Paso County Coroner Dr. Leon Kelly said there were plans to have a mobile morgue in place to help, but those plans were put on hold as local funeral homes increased their storage capacity.
The Coroner's Office was also slammed with COVID cases at the start of December, but Dr, Kelly says that workload "Seems to have let up a little this week."
