If you are considering a career in the U.S. military, what better way to get a closer look at the challenges that you will face, than to actually meet face to face with those who have chosen that career and can give you the best perspective.

That’s what happened on Thursday on the campus of UCCS in Colorado Springs. Members of Fort Carson’s Aviation Unit helicoptered on to campus as part of the University’s “STEM” week, to meet face to face with students who are members of the campus ROTC unit. They had a chance to ask questions of the soldiers and aviators about what they have gone through, the training they have received, deployments, in short, the opportunities and the challenges of life in the U.S. military.

We spoke with student Seth Heyden who told us “I think it kind of bonds that connection between civilian and military. You kind of just come out here, talk with the guys, realize that they’re just kind of like you, they’re just more along in their path of life.”
